Northeast Florida Homestead Information |
Florida Law allows one permanent residence to be declared for the purpose of the homestead exemption. If you are a permanent resident and reside in the property by Jan.1, your home is eligible for a homestead exemption. Generally $50,000.000 will be deducted from your real property for tax purposes. You may also qualify for additional exemptions, such as widow's or disability. Special rules apply to military personnel who are transferred but intend to return.
